Realizing Student Potential/ITeach CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The next RSP/ITeach Conference will be held at Minneapolis Community and Technical College on February 27-28, 2009. The focus of this year's conference will be Communities in Higher Education. We are seeking proposals from YOU and all statewide faculty, staff and administrators for concurrent sessions, roundtables, hands-on workshops, poster sessions and discipline meetings focused on the Communities theme. Integrating Critical Thinking into Your Course

Every course can provide opportunities for critical thinking. Getting students to apply critical thinking requires understanding the elements and practice. As instructors, we never have enough time to teach everything we want, so how do you incorporate critical thinking on the side? You don't! This presentation will be a discussion of intergrating critical thinking into what you currently do-blending it into the content and activities you use. Registration

This workshop is the second out of seven (7) different sessions that provide the skills components for the state Professional Peace Officers Education programs. Each workshop focuses on a specific discipline; this one highlights Mental Health. The first session highlighted Defensive Tactics on September 24. Designing with Technology
October 23-24 at St. Cloud Technical College
Registration deadline: October 15
This CTL Discipline Workshop will provide a forum for MnSCU Art and Design faculty to share their instructional processes involving Designing with Technology and gain an understanding of the different programs within the MnSCU system. The workshop will also create an environment in which faculty can investigate opportunities for partnerships and collaborations and explore the possibilities and challenges that may lie ahead.
