Designing the Future: Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Strategic Directions and Goals
The Minnseota State Colleges and Universities Strategic Plan 2002-5 lists its directions and goals at: http://www.mnscu.edu/media/publications/pdf/2002_20051page.pdf
There are four areas highlighted. The first is to increase access and opportunity, the second is to expand high quality learning programs and services, the third is to strengthen community development and economic vitality, and the fourth addresses full intergration of the system.
As a faculty member, I find that reading the MnSCU strategic plan can serve as a 'reality check' for me . How does what I do address the system goals? I know that I will look at the plan more often so that I can better focus on the 'big picture'.
One goal that is very meaningful for me to remember is to "meet the full range of student learning needs". I look at that often in my classes, with students coming from a wider variety of backgrounds and preparation. They teach me a lot about growth as I work to help them meet those needs!
What do you think?
