Integrating Critical Thinking into Your Course
October 10, 2008 - 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Every course can provide opportunities for critical thinking. Getting students to apply critical thinking requires understanding the elements and practice. As instructors, we never have enough time to teach everything we want, so how do you incorporate critical thinking on the side? You don't! This presentation will be a discussion of integrating critical thinking into what you currently do-blending it into the content and activities you use. Session Recording, PPT, Resource Sheet
Grant Seeking and Proposal Writing: It's Not that Hard to Fund Your Ideas!
November 7, 2008 - 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Essentially a “Grant Writing 101” course, this session will give practical advice to faculty members-whether new or experienced-to help them land funding for their teaching and student-learning projects. Participants will participate in hands-on activities and will leave the session with the beginning of a great grant proposal. Registration
Assessment and Accountability: Can They Work Together?
November 21, 2008 - 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Most in academia agree that assessment should happen, but the debate is about how it should be done. Many also agree that accountability should exist, but accountable to whom? This workshop presents a framework that covers the assessment cycle, a culture of evidence, assessment practices, why we must act, and lastly addresses the question: "Is Assessment Working?"
