CTL offers Webinars in which faculty can interact with presenters during a one or two hour online session and delivered via online conferencing to participants in the convenience of their office or home. Sessions are recorded and archived for future reference. The cost is free to system faculty. Topics for these sessions are based on faculty needs identified by the biennial faculty development survey.
Topics and presenters for additional offerings are welcomed!

Remember science courses taught in laboratories, Bunsen burners, goggles, and beakers? Well many of our faculty are still using these teaching facilities with great success. However, with more students taking courses online, some faculty have found effective ways to teach their science courses and labs online! Join us to find out how they are teaching online and share in a discussion of what their students are learning.
The first session (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.) will cover students working at home conducting their experiments on their own.

Join the Revolution in Foreign/Second Languages and World Cultures Teaching & Learning! This presentation will demonstrate pedagogically exploiting video in Spanish on the Internet. The session will focus on how a foreign news agency short video in Spanish can be a teaching tool either as a core lesson or as supplementary material in a variety of disciplines. Although the session will be given mainly in Spanish and English, teachers of French, German and Italian, as well as social studies and world cultures would find this a valuable learning resource. The way of working with the video material can be applied to the teaching of more than 30 languages and cultures.

Grant Seeking and Proposal Writing: It's Not that Hard to Fund Your Ideas!

This session will give faculty members the bare essentials (and the courage) to tackle the task of finding and applying for funding from outside sources. Essentially a “Grant Writing 101” course, this session will give practical advice to faculty members-whether new or experienced-to help them land funding for their teaching and student-learning projects. Assessment and Accountability: Can They Work Together?

Most in academia agree that assessment should happen, but the debate is about how it should be done. Many also agree that accountability should exist, but accountable to whom? This workshop presents a framework that covers the assessment cycle, a culture of evidence, assessment practices, why we must act, and lastly addresses the question: "Is Assessment Working?"
